Mission

The mission of our program is to provide high quality care and education in a safe nurturing environment to the children and families we serve.

Philosophy

Our aim of education in the program is the development of all aspects of the child: intellectual, social, and emotional in a creative, safe and healthy learning environment. We are a Reggio Emilia & Waldorf inspired program. We also incorporate  Montessori activities. We strongly believe in the power of play and the role of imagination in learning. Children will be allowed to be children. Children will get dirty, wet, and enjoy the rain if it rains. We provide nurturing relationships to support children's social emotional development. In addition, we work on community building through friendship development, social skills development, and cooperative group learning. We will do events to build strong relationships with our families.

Curriculum

We offer a curriculum that engages children actively in the learning process and provides a variety of strength based learning experiences. Children focus on process art experiences, nature explorations, gathering, science experiments, baking, cooking, knitting, wood word, music, movement, math, and language development through ongoing explorations.  The curriculum is planed based on observations and reflections of children’s interest, needs and inquires.

Discipline

We have simple rules for health and safety of children. We promote kindness, courtesy and respect for all. We arrange the environment and offer a wide variety of age appropriate activities based on the interest of children. We tailor our expectations to fit the developmental levels of the children to minimize frustrations and inappropriate behavior. We use positive approaches to discipline and discuss strategies to use with challenging behavior. Positive behaviors are strongly encourage and noticed. We use Positive Descriptive Acknowledgment to empower children’s actions and encourage positive relationships.
